Welcome KRING HOSPITAL FAMILY, today we continue our discussion about blood pressure but focusing on elevated blood pressure.
Elevated blood pressure can be classified as mild, moderate and severe ranging from 140/90, 150/100 and above 150/100mmhg.
Most times, the patient feels some persistent headache, occasional dizziness, frequent tiredness, undue awareness of heart beat, inability to sleep and at times no symptom.
Blood pressure is checked thrice on different days to confirm hypertension.
Modalities of treatment include:-
1)Drugs- which comprise of drugs to lower blood pressure, those that combat stress and those to induce better sleep.
With the drugs you must also
1) have adequate rest and sleep. At least 6hours every night.
2) Balanced diet avoiding salt and salty foods
3)Engage in exercise at least for 30mins every 3days.
4) Stop drinking alcohol and smoking cigarette.
5)Engage in work- life balance.
Giving allotted time for work, rest and fun with your family.
Constantly go for your check up appointments where your drugs will be reviewed.
